FYI: Generally speaking, vegetarians do not eat meat but vegans do not eat meat or anything else derived from an animal such as honey or milk.
Hello. I’m Nathalie and I have intense allergies to dairy, eggs and oysters. This is a recent blessing of mine. Just kidding. I LOVE dairy and eggs..and oysters so its sort of a MAJOR bummer. Although the more I go into whole foods, the more I am able to love my life again.
Having these allergies I have obviously had to alter the way I grocery shop (which now takes 3 times longer because I must read ALL ingredients), the way I eat (No real butter, no real mayo, no real cheese, real anything) and especially the way I eat out! My main concerns were- whats going to happen to DESSERT?!?! And..what the heck CAN I eat?
Well, in terms of eating at home- its quite simple because I know what is in my food and what I am cooking it with. No need to worry about dairy and eggs. In terms of eating out- don’t get me wrong, I love myself a steak but vegan is just the easiest way to go if I want to dine out because I am guaranteed that no animal products will be involved. With this, I am on a new quest of scouting out the best vegan restaurants in Los Angeles. This is a blog about my little kind of sort of vegan journey…sooo I hope you can appreciate the ratings, the reviews, and the hard, rough and tough work I have and will have to put into eating all of this amazing food!
Love,
Nathalie
Side note:
No disrespect to vegans or vegetarians. Many of you have firm opinions and beliefs and I have immense respect for you and the way you choose to live your life. This is simply a creative outlet and a fun way to cope with my darn allergies
